About Us

The importance and significant influence of Indian Professionals is growing globally, and Hong Kong is no exception.

The Forum of Indian Professionals in Hong Kong (FIPHK), was formed in 2001.

FIPHK, or “The Forum” as it’s also widely known, has been established as a platform for professionals of Indian origin in Hong Kong, to meet, network, exchange ideas, and become a part of a series of events that aim to focus on current affairs, culture, literature, business, sport and other ongoing issues and topics that impact us all. The Forum has taken issues relevant to Indian professionals and the Indian community in Hong Kong, to the Government of HKSAR, and has participated in white papers and discussions, responses to media reports and editorials, working closely with the Consulate General of India, on various initiatives.

Our membership is by Invitation and referral from members only.

In recent years, aside from Indian citizens who hold senior positions across various sectors, Hong Kong has seen a rise of students coming from India to study at state-of-the-art universities in Hong Kong. The Forum has been involved in hosting these students who are away from home, in providing them a platform to network and build their careers in ways possible.

Over the course of the year, host some marquee events such as the Celebration of International Women’s Day, Mind Matters – a quiz nite, the annual gala dinner and a family day out. In addition, every six to eight weeks, there are other events such as hosting celebrities and/or renowned personalities possibly visiting Hong Kong, panel discussions on various topics and current affairs, and events that focus on health and well-being too.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of hosting Mr. Shashi Tharoor, Mr. NR Narayana Murthy, Mr. Prakash Jha, Mr. Vikas Swarup, Mr. Amitav Ghosh, Mr. Chetan Bhagat, Mr. Sunil Gavaskar, Ms. Mary Kom, Ms. Kiran Bedi, Dr. Sanjaya Baru, and Mr. Harsha Bhogle to name a few.
